Who We Are

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A CHURCH?

In today’s culture, many varying opinions have developed as to what a church ought to look like, sound like, and be like. As such, it can become rather confusing since it appears our culture seems to be influencing the church rather than the church influencing our culture, leaving those who desire to worship the Lord in simplicity of spirit and truth, disheartened and disenchanted. So then, the real question we need to ask ourselves is, “What is the heart and mind of God concerning His church?” We must look to the Scriptures for His truth, and our answer. In the new testament, especially the book of Acts, we find a detailed requisite for us as to the core principles of what the early church practiced and believed, as they were lead by the Holy Spirit, according to the heart and mind of God.

Therefore, with the multitude of choices in churches, be it this church or any other, how can you effectively determine which fellowship is right for you and your family?

Here are a few questions to further consider regarding this most important decision:

  • Is this a church where, the Word of God is both clearly and faithfully taught?
  • Is this a church where, the gospel is cherished and proclaimed, and where sound doctrine truly matters?
  • Is this a church where, I can find & cultivate godly relationships, and be challenged & encouraged to serve?
  • Is this a church where, I’ll find people who care enough for my soul to ask me the tough questions regarding my walk with Jesus Christ?

These may be tough questions to consider, yet they must profoundly be explored by anyone who truly desires to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)

OUR STAFF

ABOUT CALVARY CHAPEL

Calvary Countryside Is part of the Calvary Chapel movement and is an outreach of Calvary Chapel Santa Clarita.

Calvary Chapel is what many have called a “non-traditional” church, in that while we do have our traditions and customs, we absolutely believe it is essential for our growth and maturity in Jesus Christ, that we remain flexible to the leading of His Holy Spirit, yet holding steadfastly without compromise to the Biblical model of the early church.

  • We believe the worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are centrally focused upon the teaching of the Word of God. (2 Timothy 2:15)
  • We believe the worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a time to music in our worship.
    (Psalm 28:7)
  • We believe the worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. (Romans 8:14)
